You're reading: Court arrests ex-prosecutor Sus without bail option

Solomiansky District Court of Kyiv has chosen a measure of restraint in the form of custody without a bail option for former deputy head of the department of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine for especially the former deputy head of the department for especially important economic cases of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (PGO), Dmytro Sus, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) has told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to SAP, the court made such a decision on February 13.

As reported, NABU detectives, under the procedural leadership of SAPO prosecutors, detained Sus at Boryspil Airport on July 25, 2017.

Sus is accused of the failure to declare a foreign car in his e-declaration, as well as the seizure of others’ property during the conduct of investigative actions in several criminal proceedings.

On July 27, Solomiansky District Court of Kyiv put Sus under house arrest for two months, obliging him to wear an ankle monitor. The Prosecutor General’s Office asked for an arrest with the possibility of Hr 5 million bail. According to the court’s ruling, Sus was under house arrest in Khmelnytsky.

On January 22, Solomiansky District Court of Kyiv changed the measure of restraint for Sus from house arrest with the mandatory wearing of an electronic tracking bracelet to Hr 1.76 million bail.
