You're reading: Court changes imprisonment to home arrest for ex-board chairman of bank Mykhailivsky

Kyiv’s Shevchenkivsky district court on Dec. 3, 2016 decided to change imprisonment of former board chairman of bank Mykhailivsky Ihor Doroshenko to home arrest, Doroshenko defending lawyer Rostyslav Kravets said on his Facebook page.

“Imprisonment was replaced by home arrest… I hope Prosecutor General’s Office with investigators would not hastily invent new suspicion,” he said late on Dec. 3, commenting the result of the court hearing.

On Nov. 8, 2016, Kyiv’s appeal court extended the detention term for former board chairman of bank Mykhailivsky until Dec. 6, 2016.
On August 13, the court arrested Doroshenko and set the Hr 137.8 million bail.

Earlier Kyiv’s PGO said that Doroshenko is suspected of embezzling Hr 870 million from the bank and brining the bank to insolvency. Doroshenko is suspected under Part 5 of Article 191 and Article 218-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

On Oct. 10, 2016 Kyiv’s Shevchenkivsky district court under a petition of Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office extended the detention term for the former board chairman of bank Mykhailivsky with an Hr 137.8 million bail option.
