Obolonsky District Court of Kyiv will continue hearing the case on charges of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on August 10, and on August 15, an important witness will be summoned for questioning to the court at the request of the prosecutor’s office.

During the trial session on August 3 public defender Vitaliy Meshechek asked the court to give him one month to learn the case materials from 1 to 28 volumes. However, the court refused to do so, noting that the evidence will be studied at the next meetings, with which the defender has already been acquainted – from 29 to 51 volumes, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.

After that, the prosecution asked to question witness Yuriy Serhiyiv, who in 2014 served as Ukraine’s permanent representative to the UN and attended a meeting of the UN Security Council residing in the United States. On certain days he will be present on the territory of Ukraine, and the court granted this motion, noting that the testimony of this witness is important for all participants in the process.

The witness has been summoned for August 15, at 2 p.m.
