A court at a session on March 27 extended the arrest of Dmytro Rossoshansky, the culprit in a deadly road accident who was sentenced in May 2017 to seven years in prison, the press service of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office has reported.

“At the request of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Rossoshansky, who is accused of committing a criminal offense under Part 2, Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, had his measure of restraint in the form of detention extended,” the report says.

At the same time, the regional prosecutor’s office noted that “individual citizens” tried to mislead the society by spreading untrue information that Rossoshansky could be released on March 27.

“We emphasize that the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office operates exclusively within the law and does everything possible to establish an objective truth in criminal proceedings,” reads the report.

As reported, Dmytro Rossoshansky was convicted in May 2017 to seven years in prison for a fatal crash, in which, in September 2015, the sister of lawyer Iryna Nozdrovska, Svitlana Sapatynska, was killed.

Lawyer Nozdrovska, who lived in the village of Demydiv in Vyshgorod district, Kyiv region, was found dead in a river on January 1, 2018.

On January 8, it became known about the detention of a suspect in this crime. He is Yuriy Rossoshansky, the father of Dmytro Rossoshansky. He was arrested.
