You're reading: Court hearing Yanukovych case determines schedule for March-April

The Obolonsky District Court of Kyiv has determined the schedule of sessions in the case on the treason of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych for March-April 2018.

Presiding Judge Vladyslav Deviatko said on Wednesday, March 14, that next court sessions would be held on March 21, March 27-29, April 4-5, April 11-12 and April 18-19.

He ordered Yanukovych’s lawyers to ensure the interrogation of 13 remaining witnesses at court sessions on March 21 and March 27-29, April 4-5 and April 11-12.

Deviatko also recalled the opportunity given to Yanukovych to give evidence to the court via a video conference.

Then the judge said that the prosecution and the defense should be prepared on April 18-19 to participate in the judicial debate, which is the final stage of the trial before the court leaves for the deliberations room to make a decision.

The next court session will be held at 10.00 a.m. on March 21.
