LVIV – A court hearing on the case of a protocol filed by the State Border Service against former Georgian President and leader of the Movement of New Forces party Mikheil Saakashvili due to the illegal crossing of Ukraine’s state border has been postponed until 11 p.m. on Sept. 22.

Such a decision was made by the judge who considered the protocol drawn up by Ukrainian border guards regarding the events at the Shehyni checkpoint on Sept. 10.

At its session, the court considered a number of motions from prosecutors and the defense team, as well as explanations from Saakashvili himself, who stated that nobody can talk about any breakthrough of the border, because “everything happened on Ukrainian territory.”

The court hearing was postponed due to the fact that the State Border Service required additional time to fulfill the petitions of the defense team.
