The Starobilsk District Court in Luhansk region on April 18, questioned Radical Party leader Oleh Liashko as a witness from the prosecution in the case of the former head of the Party of Regions faction in the Verkhovna Rada of the seventh convocation, Oleksandr Yefremov.

“A witness from the prosecution, people’s deputy of Ukraine of the eighth convocation Liashko, was questioned during the judicial consideration. He testified about events in Luhansk in the spring of 2014, including about the seizure of administrative buildings,” the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) reported on its Facebook page on April 18.

The next hearing in this case will be held on April 19, and the questioning of witnesses from the prosecution is scheduled.

Earlier, Liashko expressed his indignation at the publication of the announcement about his questioning.

“Is the message about my interrogation in the Starobilsk court, stating the day and time of this action, for terrorists or Russian special services, so that they know where to meet me, and when?” he wrote on Facebook.

Yefremov is charged with committing a criminal offense under Part 3, Article 110, Part 1, Article 111, Part 1, Article 258-3, Part 3, Article 27, and Article 341 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

On July 30, 2016, Yefremov was detained on suspicion of threatening Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty in an airport in Kyiv. He is also charged with supporting Russia-backed separatists and the illegal acquisition of property belonging to Luhanskvuhillia.

Yefremov is suspected of organizing the seizure of the building of Luhansk Regional State Administration in the spring 2014, supporting a foreign organization to conduct disruptive activities against Ukraine and supporting and establishing Russia-backed separatist organization – the so-called “Luhansk People’s Republic.”

Yefremov is in custody.
