Kyiv’s District Administrative Court on Feb. 11 will consider a petition of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine to lift the ban on Ulana Suprun’s performing her duties as the Health Minister, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleksandr Saenko has said.

“Yesterday, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, on behalf of the government, promptly filed a petition to cancel measures to secure a claim in the case involving the fulfillment of the duties of the Minister of Health. According to initial reports, the respective petition will be heard on Feb. 11, at Kyiv’s District Administrative Court,” Saenko wrote on his Facebook page on Feb. 6.

“We hope for a fair and impartial court ruling,” he said.

As earlier reported, on Feb. 5, following a lawsuit filed by MP Ihor Mosiychuk of the Radical Party, Kyiv’s District Administrative Court banned Suprun from performing her duties as the acting Minister of Health of Ukraine.

Kyiv’s District Administrative Court said they banned Suprun from performing her duties as the minister of health because of her dual citizenship and because she had exceeded the maximum allowed time for being in office as the acting minister.

On Feb. 6, Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko said the Ministry of Justice will appeal against the decision of Kyiv’s District Administrative Court banning Suprun from performing her duties as the acting Minister of Health of Ukraine.
