The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has carried out searches at the medical center Eurolab LLC within the framework of the investigation into the criminal case on possible actions aimed at spreading the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease and seized necessary documents.

“The Main Investigation Department of the SBU is probing into the criminal case on possible actions carried out by Eurolab LLC employees with the aim of spreading COVID-19 and causing damage to public health in Ukraine,” the press service of the SBU said on its Facebook page on April 2.

According to the SBU, the case refers, in particular, to conscious concealing of information about positive COVID-19 tests in the clinic’s clients from relevant state agencies.

“On April 1, 2020, on the basis of a court ruling, searches were conducted in the premises of Eurolab LLC to check into all circumstances of this offense. Necessary documents and information were seized as a result of them,” the SBU said.

The documents will be considered with the participation of experts from the Health Ministry of Ukraine in the near future, after which relevant procedural decisions will be made on the criminal case, it said.
