Prosecutor’s office of Crimea has opened criminal proceedings against a fact of illegal detention of citizen of Ukraine Denys Kashuk in the territory of temporarily occupied peninsula.

“The prosecutor’s office of Crimea has opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal confinement or abduction of a person) on the fact of detention and imprisonment of a citizen of Ukraine, a resident of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, by the occupation “law enforcers,” the press service of the prosecutor’s office reported on its Telegram channel on Dec. 28.

So, the investigators established that the “Crimean law enforcement officers” in Simferopol detained the Crimean on suspicion of committing crimes under Article 222 (illegal purchase, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of weapons, their main parts, ammunition) and Article 22-1 (illegal purchase, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of explosives or explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Then, the so-called “Kyivsky District Court of Simferopol” chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for Kashuk.
