On August 19 evening, a Crimean Tatar activist, Server Karametov, detained for a single picket, was released, Krim. Realii (Crimea. Realities) Radio station has reported.

“In Crimea, the 76-year-old Server Karametov, who was arrested for ten days for a single picket in support of one of the Crimean Tatar leaders Akhtem Chiygoz, was released on August 19. He was met by Crimeans from different cities and villages of the peninsula,” the message reads posted on the site on August 19 evening.

It says that one of the activists of the Crimean Tatar national movement Nariman Dzhelal, one of the leaders of the Crimean Tatars Ilmi Umerov, the coordinator of the Crimean Contact Group for Human Rights Abdureshit Dzepparov came to meet Karametov.

The daughter of one of the leaders of the Crimean Tatars Umerov, Aysha, televises live on her Facebook page.

As earlier reported, Karametov was detained in Simferopol on August 8 for a single picket in support of Chiygoz.

On August 9, the Zheleznodorozhny District Court considered administrative offences and Karametov was sentenced to a fine of 10,000 rubles on the first count and arrest on the second one.

Mejlis Deputy Head Chiygoz is charged with organizing mass disturbances at a rally in Simferopol on February 26, 2014, prior to the referendum on Crimea’s accession to Russia.
