Britain’s Crown Agents has announced the start of procurement of medicines and medical products using 2018 budget funds.

According to information posted on the agency’s website, this is the start of procurement of medicines and medical products under three state health programs – procurement of contraceptives for women with serious diseases, medical consumables for peritoneal dialysis, materials for testing glucose and glycated hemoglobin levels in blood. The procurement is to start on May 7.

As reported, the Health Ministry of Ukraine on April 27, 2018, signed contracts for procurement at the expense of the state budget 2018. Significant changes were made to the contracts concerning the timing of the tendering procedures, as well as payment terms. Now, payment for supplies will be made at the stage of concluding contracts between organizations and medicine suppliers.

At the end of March 2018, the Health Ministry approved the first part of the list of medicines and medical products to be procured by international organizations using 2018 national budget funds, which is a record early start of the procurement process. Thus, contracts for the procurement of medicines and medical products using the 2017 national budget funds were signed in July last year. Currently, deliveries are made on them.

Since 2015 to the present time, three international organizations – the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the British purchasing agency Crown Agents carry out the procurement of medicines and medical products under state programs using national budget funds.
