Here’s the latest news from the Kyiv Post:

  • Persecuted journalist Ivan Golunov tracked down Yanukovych in Russia. In support of Golunuv, a Russian journalist arrested on politically motivated charges in Moscow. The Kyiv Post republishes his investigation. The article reveals that the former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych apparently lives at a state-owned retreat that belongs to a division of the Russian Interior Ministry.
  • Russia-friendly Opposition Platform announces party list. The party’s top 10 is stacked with well-known pro-Russian politicians – Yuriy Boyko, Vadim Rabinovych and Viktor Medvedchuk, to name a few.
  • Tymoshenko’s Batkivshchyna Party reveals top 5 candidates for parliament. The party stuck with familiar names, adding Serhii Taruta, multi-millionaire and founder of the Industrial Union of Donbas to the mix.
  • Poll: 5 parties will make it to parliament. Joining the Opposition Platform and Batkivshchyna, mentioned above, are European Solidarity, Holos and Sluga Narodu, which have revealed their party lists, on June 9th.
  • Go Camp volunteer teaching program starts 4th season with symbolic act in Kyiv. In a series of camps throughout Ukraine volunteers from 50 countries will teach Ukrainian students foreign languages.
