  • Open source investigation group Bellingcat named Russian army officers behind shelling attack on civilians in Mariupol in January 2015. A full report will be released later this week but Bellingcat investigative researched shared some details.
  • Famous sportswear brand Adidas came under public fire for its new USSR tank dress. Social media users accused the brand of historical insensitivity and usage of symbols of the totalitarian regime.
  • Over a half of internally displaced people in Ukraine struggle to make ends meet, according to a survey by the International Organization for Migration. A total of 54 percent of 1.6 million of registered IDPs can barely cover their food expenses, and for many healthcare remains unaffordable.
  • Ukrainian Justice Minister published a list of companies that owe millions of hryvnias in salaries to their employees.
  • Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is going to have a series of meetings with European leaders. Poroshenko is going to Germany on May 9-10 to hold trilateral talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron as well as to meet with the European Council President Donald Tusk. On May 11 Poroshenko will host Slovenian President Borut Pahor who will visit Ukraine for the first time since his reelection last November. And Estonian President Kersti Kajulaid is expected in Kyiv on May 22-24.
