•  Backwards day? This time, Russia is imposing the sanctions on Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin has ordered the Russian government to draw up a series of measures as a response to “unfriendly actions by Ukraine towards citizens of the Russian Federation.” However, it’s unclear what exactly they mean and who will fall under the sanctions.

•  Lazy lawmakers. Nearly 13 percent of Ukrainian parliamentarians have missed more than 90 percent of votes in the Verkhovna Rada this October. Fourteen lawmakers have failed to show for even one vote! (Three of them have a not-particularly-good excuse: they’re on the wanted list and, unsurprisingly, hiding outside the country.)

•  Rad renewables. General Electric has signed another contract with Ukrainian energy giant DTEK to supply 26 more wind turbines to Prymorska wind farm in Zaporyzhzhia Oblast, doubling its generating capacity to 200 megawatts.

•  Tech migration. Don’t believe the stereotypes: Ukrainians don’t just come to Poland to work as migrant laborers. They also head top Polish tech companies. Find out where.

Historic problem. Tuberculosis can be prevented, treated, and cured, yet it is the 9th overall cause of death globally and a serious problem in Ukraine. But TB took center stage at a UN high-level meeting in New York, and Ukraine was well-represented.
