On Dec. 20, 2012, Vitali Klitschko wrote an opinion piece for the Kyiv Post titled “Looking ahead to 2013: honesty would help.” Klitschko goes on by writing, “we need to demonstrate that betraying the people by moving to other factions is not acceptable.” On Nov. 21, 2013, then-President Viktor Yanukovych refused to sign the Association Agreement with the European Union, triggering the EuroMaidan Revolution that led to Yanokovych’s dismissal.
