Representatives of the non-governmental organization The HALO Trust will begin humanitarian demining in a number of towns in Donetsk region on Monday, August 14, the website of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported.

“In order to assess the presence, nature and extent of contamination of the territory with mines and explosive remnants of war, the non-governmental organization The HALO Trust has since August 14 started carrying out humanitarian demining activities in the areas of the towns of Lomakyne, Talakivka, Hnutove, Mariupol district, and the town of Myrny, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region,” the report says.

The Defense Ministry said these actions will be carried out in compliance with the action plan for the organization of humanitarian demining of the liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions for 2017 under the coordination of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.
