You're reading: Defense Ministry: Health of freed Ukrainian sailors is satisfactory

The health Ukrainian naval sailors, who arrived from Moscow on Sept. 7 as part of the mutual release of detainees between Ukraine and Russia, is satisfactory, but everyone needs time for treatment and examination, Anatoliy Kazmyrchuk, head of the National Military Medical Clinical Center “Main Military Clinical Hospital” has said.

“At present, military sailors released after captivity by Russia have been examined by doctors and proscribed treatment. Medical support is provided in full. Nutrition is provided in accordance with the prescribed diets, depending on the nature of their Illness,” Kazmyrchuk said on Sept. 9 visiting departments and clinics where sailors are undergoing medical and psychological rehabilitation.

He added that the servicemen are assisted by psychologists and a military chaplain.

“Our medical center has shifted to a special work regime. The entire staff of the center provides qualified medical assistance to released sailors, and an additional reserve of beds has been created,” he said.

As reported, on Sept. 7, Russia and Ukraine carried out a mutual release of the detained citizens in the “35 for 35” format. The liberated Ukrainians, after returning to Ukraine, were transported to the Feofania medical center and military hospital in Kyiv.
