Ukrainian Parliament’s Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova and her Russian counterpart Tatiana Moskalkova have started a meeting in Kyiv, during which they will discuss prospects for the release of Ukrainian citizens detained in the Russian Federation and Russian citizens held in Ukraine.

“I’ve started a meeting with Tatiana Moskalkova, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, as part of her visit to Kyiv. We will discuss the issue of the release of Ukrainian citizens held in the territory of the Russian Federation and the occupied Crimea, as well as of Russian citizens held in Ukraine,” Denisova said on Facebook on July 15.

Also, she said, the possibility of solving humanitarian issues of providing individual citizens in places of detention, medical or other assistance will be considered.

“We will talk about our further cooperation,” she said.
