Yet another car has exploded in Kyiv, resulting in multiple casualties.

On the evening of Nov. 6, a motorcycle sped up to a black Mercedes travelling on a highway in western Kyiv and set an explosive device on its roof. Then the motorcyclist drove off and detonated the bomb from a distance, police report.

As a result of the explosion, one man was killed while two others sustained injuries. A red Lada driving behind the Mercedes was also damaged, but its driver was uninjured.

The man killed in the black Mercedes was a 40-year-old police bodyguard for Igor Salo, the man police believe the assassin was targeting. Salo and another passenger are currently in the hospital.

Salo, 57, is a Kharkiv-born businessman who heads the Zdorovya pharmaceutical group. He allegedly possesses eight passports, including a Russian one, and has been involved in corporate raiding.

Police currently believe Salo was targeted because of his business activities. The authorities have launched a special operation to investigate the crime.

Currently, they are looking for the man on the motorcycle and others who might be involved in the assassination attempt. Under criminal law, they could face from 15 years to life in prison.
