The loading of the second vessel with 75,000 tonnes of anthracite at Richards Bay port in South African for replenishment of stocks at DTEK thermal power plants (TPP) began on June 5 and will last for about a week, DTEK Energy CEO Dmytro Sakharuk said.
“The loading of the vessel will take a little more than a week. And its arrival in Ukraine is expected in mid-July,” he told journalists in Kyiv.
According to him, these 75,000 tonnes of anthracite upon arrival in the country will be directed to Kryvy Rih and Prydniprovska TPPs.
Sakharuk noted coal supply from South Africa will allow in summer months to provide peak loads of the power system.
As reported, the first bulk carrier with 75,000 tonnes of anthracite for DTEK arrived in Yuzhny port (Odesa region) on May 25.
