DTEK Energy Holding has reported about an attack on its Luhanska thermal power plant (TPP) in Donbas.

“Shelling of DTEK Luhanska TPP’s territory began at 12:45 on June 23. All works in open areas – the fuel transport and electrical shops, Interenergoservice contractor’s Luhanska section, the technical service shop, an outdoor 220 kV switchgear – were suspended. DTEK Luhanska TPP’s employees have been evacuated to shelters. No victims or damages have been reported at the moment,” the company said in a statement on Friday.

Since August 2014, Luhanska TPP remains the only electricity generating facility for the north of Luhansk region. Until April 25, 2017, the station operated separately from the Ukrainian power grids due to the fact that its power transmission lines were damaged in Donbas hostilities.

As of today, the station generates 50 MWh on the average.
