DTEK has reported a crime to the National Police involving its loss of control over mining enterprises located in areas temporarily not controlled by Ukrainian government forces in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
“The applications were filed in accordance with Part 3 of Article 206 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine foreseeing the demand to terminate doing business linked to a threat of violence and the seizure of property by an organized group of persons. DTEK asked the National Police to launch a pretrial investigation and take measures not to allow the unlawful use of the seized property,” the company said in a press release.
DTEK enterprises located in the Ukrainian government uncontrolled areas are submitting the lists of lost property to law enforcement agencies.
DTEK is a strategic holding, with three operating companies which manage coal extraction, heat-generation and distribution, as well as alternative energy and natural gas extraction. The company is part of the financial industrial group System Capital Management (SCM), the largest stakeholder of which is Rinat Akhmetov.
