Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin announced the establishment of a special working group to assess damage caused to Crimea’s economy by Ukraine.

“We are setting up a working group led by [First Deputy Speaker] Ivan Ivanovich Melnikov. Any objections? Decision adopted,” Volodin said at a Duma meeting on March 20.

“As concerns the damage and harm caused to Crimea and Sevastopol over the 23 years of Crimea’s and Sevastopol’s annexation by Ukraine, we will discuss the matter at a Duma Council meeting today and will switch to making practical decisions. In doing so, we will try to study the situation in Crimea and Sevastopol and compile a final document through engaging economists, researchers, the academies of sciences and involving representatives of the regions,” Volodin said.
