Leader of the Crimean Tatars Mustafa Dzhemilev received the award of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Tomas Petricek – the medal For Merits in Diplomacy, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reported.
“The head of the Czech Foreign Ministry has awarded a number of prominent personalities from different countries. Mustafa Dzhemilev, in particular, received an award for “a significant contribution to human rights throughout his life,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said on Facebook on Monday.
Since due to the coronavirus disease pandemic, it is impossible to ensure participation of the laureates at the awards ceremony, the medals will be handed over to those awarded in foreign diplomatic institutions, the Foreign Ministry reports.
