The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is considering the possibility of providing Lviv with financing of up to 20 million euro to solve the problem of solid household waste disposal, EBRD Senior Adviser Anton Usov said on his Facebook page.

According to him, the bank announced its readiness to help the city solve the problem of solid household waste disposal during the Spring Business Forum in Lviv.

“Depending on the results of the feasibility study, the EBRD could provide financing of up to 20 million euro for several key tasks: the construction of a sorting station to start separate waste collection, as well as the implementation of the first stage of reconstruction of the Hrybovychi landfill and the first stage of construction of a compost plant,” the banker said.

He said this project assumes possible co-financing from other international organizations and could be signed in the third quarter of 2017.
