The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has established that the Ukrainian government has taken all measures available to it to guarantee citizens’ access to the judicial system, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Serhiy Kyslytsia has said.

“In the case of Tsezar & others v. Ukraine, on the complaint of residents of Donetsk on the impossibility of challenging in court at the place of residence the termination of payment of pensions and social benefits, the ECHR found that the government had taken all measures available to it to guarantee access to the judicial system,” he wrote on Twitter on February 13.

Earlier, a group of residents from uncontrolled territories in eastern Ukraine filed a lawsuit with the European Court of Human Rights that Ukraine had allegedly limited their ability to apply to court for reinstatement of their social benefits, but the ECHR rejected the suit.
