The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the IT Ukraine association on March 7, 2018 signed a memorandum of cooperation regarding the creation of e-educational platform and development of the e-textbook market.

“The joint work of the ministry and association will be aimed at creating a modern educational environment, introducing effective regulation of the educational technology market, promoting the development of digital competencies and e-learning in society,” the association said.

One of the central projects, which will attract experts from IT Ukraine, is the creation of the e-educational platform and the development of the market of e-textbooks. In addition, the members of the association will be able to participate in the creation of an effective system for collecting and analyzing statistics on information and computer technologies in Ukrainian education.

“The Ukrainian IT industry, like other branches of the creative economy, is a knowledge-based industry. Therefore, the introduction of modern technologies into the educational process and simplification of access to sources of knowledge are extremely important first steps that will help to form a new cohort of highly educated specialists not only for the IT industry, but also for other economic sectors,” Executive Director of the IT Ukraine association Oleksandr Kubrakov said.

Earlier, the representatives of the association took part in the development of a concept of the National e-educational platform and two conceptual documents – the draft order on the approval of the provisions on e-textbooks and the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the National Electronic Platform, which are now being discussed in public on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science.
