The Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) has already de facto been recognized by the Greek Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Epiphanius has said.

“The Divine Liturgy [on the occasion of the 1031st anniversary of the Christianization of Kyivan Rus] was attended by representatives of the Greek Orthodox Church. Our bishop also served with representatives of the Greek Church in Thessalonike, which testifies that de facto, the Greek church recognizes the autocephaly of our Ukrainian Orthodox church,” the press service of the Kyiv Metropolis of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (OCU) quoted Metropolitan Epiphanius as saying.

Representatives of the Ecumenical Patriarchate also joined the prayer celebration, the press service reported.
