BRUSSELS – European Commission Vice-President for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic has said participants in the trilateral consultations on gas supply to the EU-Ukraine-Russia will make progress at the next meeting.

“We hope to advance in this debate during the next meeting, which is scheduled for the third week of October,” Sefcovic said at a press conference in Brussels on Sept. 24 after a meeting of the EU Energy Council.

“As you know, we are trying to find a long-term solution acceptable to all parties,” Sefcovic said, adding that he had informed the EU Council about the next round of tripartite consultations held in Brussels on September 19 and about ensuring reliable gas supply for the coming winter.
