You're reading: Evacuation of Ukrainians from Gaza Strip is delayed

The evacuation of Ukrainians from the Gaza Strip is delayed by the violation of promises to create a “safety corridor,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.

“We should have already started the evacuation, but the promises to create a ‘safety corridor’ were broken, so we are now negotiating to give us the corridor through which we can take our citizens in the direction of Egypt, from Egypt they will fly to Ukraine. We are ready. The only thing holding us back is the ‘safety corridor’,” Kuleba told reporters in Kyiv on May 20.

As reported, on May 19, Ukraine agreed on a “green corridor” for the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from the Gaza Strip through Egypt and the organization of an appropriate flight, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.
