The leaders of the Normandy Four countries may meet, if the implementation of the decisions of the summit in Berlin in 2016 will begin.

A possibility of a meeting of the Normandy Four leaders was discussed in Paris, Center for Current Policy Director Alexei Chesnakov said on his Telegram channel. “It was decided to return to this issue later. The parties acknowledged that the work to implement the decisions of the leaders’ Berlin meeting in 2016 should precede a possible summit,” he said.

At the 2016 summit in Berlin, the leaders agreed to develop a plan of the implementation of the stalled agreement on the cessation of hostilities in eastern Ukraine that envisages the disengagement of the parties’ forces and hardware near the contact line.

One of the results of the meeting in Berlin in 2016 was the development of “the Steinmeier formula” on the determination of the status of Donbas.
