Ukraine’s pro-western president urged the EU to join his country in synchronizing sanctions regimes against Moscow with the sweeping measures introduced by the US on April 6 against Russian oligarchs and officials.
In a Facebook post announcing plans for “synchronization” of already deep domestic restrictions against Russia with the “unprecedented expansion of US sanctions against the Kremlin,” Petro Poroshenko addressed the EU, saying:
“I trust that the EU will similarly strengthen restrictive measures against Kremlin leadership.”
