All iPhone7 devices have been imported into Ukraine illegally, head of the State Fiscal Service (GFS) Roman Nasirov said at a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
“All the iPhone7 devices, which have been brought to Ukraine, have been imported illegally. They have not undergone certification, none of the phones has undergone customs clearance officially,” he said.
According to him, the mobile customs groups set up to prevent and detect violations of customs rules have been very effective in the last two weeks in addressing imports of equipment such as the iPhone7.
“This is the same old story from year to year – new models of phones are shipped to the country for the most part illegally,” he said.
All entities that sell this model in Ukraine are criminals, he said.
Some 20 mobile customs groups began working a little more than a month ago, their mission is to combat smuggling at ‘problem sections’ of the state border of Ukraine.
