MOSCOW – Moscow is indignant with the decision of the Ukrainian authorities to bar Russian citizens from the Russian Embassy and the country’s General Consulates on the presidential election day, and is hoping that the United Nations (UN) and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) will evaluate these steps, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

“Actions of the sort are unprecedented and are at odds with universally recognized opinions about civilized countries. […] We are hoping that the UN, the OSCE and other authoritative international structures will give principled evaluation to Kyiv’s steps,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement published on its website on Friday.

“The overt meddling in purely Russian internal affairs leading to mounting tensions and to all the same quite unfavorable bilateral relations is apparent,” the Foreign Ministry said.
