Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius and Latvia’s Foreign Minister Edgar Rinkevics will visit Ukraine this week to discuss the possibility of imposing national sanctions against those involved in the organization of presidential elections in Crimea annexed by Russia.

“We are also working with individual countries, since national sanctions are also possible [against Russia for organizing illegal elections in the annexed Crimea], in particular with Lithuania, and with Latvia. By the way, both foreign ministers will be in Kyiv this week, and we will continue the conversation on this topic, “Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

The foreign minister noted that earlier Ukraine managed to ensure that the European Union put these persons on the sanctions list.
