You're reading: Food catalog for Ukrainian military servicemen has 355 items, meets NATO standards

Around 8,000 military servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces every day eat meals from a food catalog consisting of 355 items, the press service of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine has reported.

“The food catalog approved by the Defense Ministry of Ukraine in April 2017 has 355 items… We approach to the standards approved in armies of NATO member countries with this catalog,” Head of the Food Supplies department of Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Logistics Division Col. Mykola Kukliuk said.

He said that the rules of organizing catering of military servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces sets the amount of kilocalories per person a day at 3,500-6,000 kilocalories and more.

He said that in the conditions of hostilities and different weather conditions one of the top priorities for food supplies is the creation of proper conditions for storing food in the field. Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Logistics Division organized decentralized procurement of military equipment of the food supply service that was delivered to the troops.
