You're reading: For first time in history, Ukraine’s mission to NATO may be headed by woman

Now the accreditation of the head of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO is being completed, for the first time in the history of Ukraine there is a woman as a candidate for this position, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.

“This is a new candidate, this is a woman. This will be the first woman ambassador of Ukraine to NATO in the history,” Kuleba told reporters in Kyiv on May 20.

The minister said that the accreditation of an ambassador to NATO is currently being completed.

“At an international organization, no agrement is needed, there one needs to undergo security certification, and right now a person is undergoing it,” Kuleba added.
