Ukrainian border guards have detained at Kyiv Airport a foreigner who was wanted by Interpol for fraud, the press office of the State Border Service of Ukraine has reported.

“Border guards of the Kyiv checkpoint in the capital’s airport detained an offender who was wanted by foreign law enforcement agencies,” the service said on September 20.

The report says that a citizen of Uzbekistan, born in 1966, arrived on an Ankara-Kyiv flight. The foreigner has been wanted since early 2014 for committing a fraud-related offense.

The man was detained and handed over to National Police employees.
