Russia’s hybrid military forces have attacked Ukrainian army positions in Donbas 45 times in the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as killed in action (KIA) and another three as wounded in action (WIA), the press center for the headquarters of Ukraine’s military operations in Donbas has reported.

“Over the past day, Russian-occupation troops continued violating the regime of a complete ceasefire, carrying out 45 shelling attacks on positions of Ukrainian defenders. The injured servicemen were promptly taken to the military hospital and provided the necessary medical assistance,” the press center of the headquarters of Ukraine’s military operations reported on Facebook April 18.

In the Luhansk sector, the enemy fired proscribed 152mm artillery systems, small arms and sniper weapons at our fortified positions near the village of Zaitseve. In addition, the invaders used 120mm mortars against the defenders of the village of Troyitske, 82mm mortars and grenade launchers near the village of Novo-Oleksandrivka, and heavy machine guns against the defenders of the village of Luhansk.

In the Donetsk sector, the aggressor opened fire from 120mm mortars, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms at the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Vodiane and Hnutove, as well as 82mm mortars and grenade launchers at the defenders of the village of Novotroyitske.

Moreover, the defenders of the town of Avdiyivka, Butovka coal mine, and the villages of Pyshchevyk, Verkhniotoretske, Talakivka, Pavlopil and Kamianka came under fire from grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms. Infantry fighting vehicles were used in the attack on Ukrainian troops near Vodiane and Pavlopil, heavy machine guns – near the villages of Opytne and Lebedynske, and small arms – near the villages of Shyrokyne and Nevelske. Furthermore, a sniper engaged Ukrainian fortified positions near Hnutove and Lebedynske.
