Four Ukrainian citizens, the crew members of the Diamond Princess cruise ship, have already been hospitalized in Japanese hospitals after they have been diagnosed with a coronavirus, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry told Interfax-Ukraine.

“At first, two people were transferred to medical institutions in connection with the discovery of positive tests for coronavirus, and over time, another two of our fellow citizens ended up in medical institutions in Japan with the same symptoms. Currently, the Ukrainian consul in Japan is in constant contact with our compatriots. Their health condition is generally normal. All wishes, all possible requests are immediately heard and, if possible, resolved directly by the Ukrainian Embassy in Japan,” the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine quoted Maksym Kovalenko, the head of the crisis management department of the consular service department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, as saying.

At the same time, the diplomat noted that initial tests for coronavirus confirmation are necessarily additionally checked by local Japanese medical services, so the final results will be known later.

As reported, the case of coronavirus infection in Ukrainian woman was confirmed in Italy. According to Kovalenko, the girl’s health is not critical, she has a slightly elevated temperature, and in general, she feels normal and will be quarantined for at least 14 days.
