Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland has said that Canada has allocated almost $8 million as humanitarian aid to Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

She said this at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin in Kyiv on December 21.

Freeland also noted that Canada understands the difficulties faced by the region.

Klimkin said that this assistance was necessary for Ukraine.
