A delegation of the U.S. European Command (EUCOM) headed by Director for Strategy, and Policy of the EUCOM Headquarters Major General David W. Allvin has expressed satisfaction with the pace of reforms in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian MP Iryna Friz (Petro Poroshenko Bloc) has said.

“Today at the meeting with the delegation headed by Director for Strategy, and Policy of the EUCOM Headquarters Major General David W. Allvin the U.S. delegation pointed out that they are satisfied with the pace of the implementation of the Armed Forces reform road map. Our partner said that they understand that the reforms are conducted in the conditions of permanent hostilities in the eastern part of our country, which is a large hindering factor for reforms and allocating the required funds,” she wrote on her Facebook page after the meeting.

The U.S. delegation also positively assessed training of the Special Operations forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Friz expressed confident that in a year Ukraine would manage to considerably strengthen combat ability of this important element of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. She expressed hope that Ukrainian military servicemen will be trained, including abroad where they would exchange experience.
