You're reading: FSB asks court to extend arrest of Ukrainian sailors until April 26

The Lefortovsky District Court in Moscow will hear a request to extend the arrest of the Ukrainian sailors detained in the Kerch Strait next week.

“The court has received a request from the Federal Security Service’s Investigative Department to extend the arrest of the Ukrainian sailors. The hearing will begin at 10 a.m. Moscow time on January 15,” court press secretary Yekaterina Krasnova told Interfax.

The detectives asked the court to extend the arrest “for three months, for a total period of five months, until April 26,” she said.
