You're reading: Gas transit through Ukrainian GTS in October is highest since year start

PJSC Gazprom on October 18 increased an application for natural gas transit through the gas transportation system (GTS) of Ukraine to 277 million cubic meters per day, the head of the PR department at PJSC Ukrtransgaz, Maksym Biliavsky, wrote on his Facebook page.

According to him, gas transit through Ukraine on October 17 was 276.4 million cubic meters, whereas on the same date last October it was about 210 million cubic meters, he told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the company, in the period from October 1 to October 16 gas transit through the Ukrainian gas transportation system to Europe and Moldova amounted to 4.124 billion cubic meters or an average of 257.8 million cubic meters per day.

If the average daily volume of gas transit retains for the remaining 13 days of the current month, gas transit through the Ukrainian gas transportation system for the whole of October will reach 8 billion cubic meters, whereas in the previous months of 2016 the figure did not exceed 7 billion cubic meters per month.

Thus, transit in January 2016 was 6.406 billion cubic meters, in February some 6.146 billion cubic meters, in March some 6.771 billion cubic meters, in April some 5.566 billion cubic meters, in May some 6.468 billion cubic meters, in June some 6.259 billion cubic meters, in July some 5.596 billion cubic meters, in August some 6.95 billion cubic meters, and in September some 6.81 billion cubic meters.

The highest daily transit in 2016 was registered on Sept. 7 in the amount of 288.8 million cubic meters with the application being 292.6 million cubic meters.
