Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers has approved a mechanism for conducting inspections in seed industry, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumers’ Rights Protection has said on its website.
According to government resolution No. 507 dated July 12, the common criteria that would allow regulating the number, frequency of inspections and the circle of economic entities depending on high, medium and minor risk factors are introduced.
According to the criteria, the scheduled inspections of entities which operations are linked to high risk are conducted no more than once in two years, for medium risk – no more than once in three years and for minor risk – no more than once in five years.
The authority said that if in the past three years violation of law is not recorded, the term for inspections is increased by 1.5 times, taking into account risks.
