Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers has reduced social limits for heat, gas and electricity consumption from May 1, 2017.

According to government resolution No. 51 dated Feb. 6, the government reduced social limits for gas consumption from 5.5 cubic meters to 5 cubic meters per square meter of space.

The government also decreased heat consumption limits for subscribers whose houses have heat meters installed: from 0.0548 gigacalories to 0.0431 gigacalories per square meter of space a month in the heating period, and electricity used for personal heating from 65 kWh to 51 kWh per square meter of space.

The reduction of social limits for heat, gas and power consumption was one of the conditions of the International Monetary Fund for issuing a new tranche to Ukraine.
