The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has pegged the price of gas sold by national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy for the needs of households and heat suppliers to the price of industrial consumers, but did not annul a ban to sell gas at the price higher than its cost under public service obligations (PSO).
Government resolution No. 293 dated April 3, regarding some issues of operation of NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy has been posted on the government’s website.
“To establish that NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy sells and supplies natural gas to suppliers for the needs of household consumers, under the conditions and in line with the rules determined by the Cabinet of Ministers… at a price that is defined as the arithmetic average price of gas at which Naftogaz offers gas to industrial consumers on a prepaid basis in the previous month before the month of delivery, but no higher than the price set by the Cabinet,” the government said in the document.
