Experts of the Group of States Against Corruption (GRECO) are working in Ukraine.

“We are visiting Ukraine as part of the fourth evaluation round, which deals with the issues of combating corruption among judges, prosecutors and parliamentarians. A report will be prepared based on the results of monitoring, it will be adopted in June of next year, after which it will become public,” representative of the Council of Europe’s GRECO Secretariat Roman Shlapak said.

According to him, the program of the visit involves a number of meetings, “related to the conflict of interests, declaration of incomes, other issues for prevention of corruption among judges, prosecutors, and members of parliament.”

He said the experts will work in Ukraine for two or three days.

“We will have meetings in the key institutions concerning the prevention of corruption… in NABU, NACP,” Shlapak said.

He also said that experts already met on Tuesday with representatives of non-governmental organizations and journalists. In addition, the experts have met with MPs, including Head of the Parliamentary Anti-Corruption Committee Yehor Sobolev of the Samopomich faction.
