VIENNA – OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger has said that the organization would like to cooperate with the UN on the possible deployment of UN peacekeepers to Donbas.

“We are ready to cooperate with UN on any concrete proposals that emerge from the Security Council, and the OSCE should be closely involved in planning from the outside,” he said at the opening of a meeting of the 24th OSCE Ministerial Council in Vienna on Thursday, December 7.

At the same time, he recalled that the OSCE is a long-standing partner of the UN in “conflict management, conflict resolution and post-conflict rehabilitation.”

He also expressed concern over the growing military activity in eastern Ukraine and the humanitarian situation in the region.

“We all need to push harder to break the political stalemate and ensure full implementation of the Minsk agreements by all sides,” Greminger said.
